Welcome To Centre for Social Equity and Inclusion (CESI)

Centre for Social Equity and Inclusion (CSEI) is about deepening democracy and development in our body politic by enhancing stake-hold of excluded communities in socio-economic and cultural (SEC) rights. Recognizing widespread prevalence of exclusion and discrimination against Dalits and Adivasis, and other minority communities in our society, particularly women, children and youth in education, employment and governance, CSEI undertakes collaborative research, piloting/model-building, policy monitoring and advocacy; embedded in experiences of the excluded communities and with state, civil society organizations and other stakeholders. Three decades of rights based development work by its members in community mobilizing, networking, research and campaign is the impetus behind CSEI. ‘Exclusion-Equity-Inclusion’ remains our watch words. A critical role of CSEI is resource and capacity building on issues of exclusion-inclusion with its valuable field level studies/learning materials (research papers, position papers, documentaries and experience documentations etc) and training modules on equity-inclusion. We are linked to networks of professionals, human rights activists, civil society organisations and networks including Adivasi, Dalit and Muslim women and men leaders across India.
